It happens when ingredients like shea butter cool too quickly, causing small crystals to form. Don’t worry — it doesn’t affect performance or quality, and those little grains melt away as you warm the balm between your fingers or massage it into your skin.

In 2025, we updated our formula to prevent this entirely. By adjusting how we blend and cool our ingredients, we’ve eliminated the chance of winterisation — so you can enjoy an even smoother experience, every time you apply.
