Why is my deodorant balm leaking oil?Updated 13 days ago
What you’re seeing is called syneresis — a natural process where oils in the balm can separate slightly, especially with changes in temperature. It’s totally safe and doesn’t affect performance, but we know it’s not ideal.
We’ve made a few behind-the-scenes improvements to help prevent this, including stronger tubes and a silicone disc inside the cap for a tighter seal. A few tips to help at home:
- Wipe the cap and thread regularly — leftover balm can stop the lid sealing properly.
- Screw the cap on tightly after each use.
- Store your balm somewhere cool and dry to keep everything stable.
If you notice grey marks when wiping the cap, that’s just a bit of harmless aluminium dust from the lid — nothing to worry about. We use aluminium caps because they’re fully recyclable and plastic-free — and we're the only brand using them this way. Every component is tested to meet strict EU safety standards, so you’re always in safe hands.
